Belgobaren

A Belgian brasserie in the heart of Stockholm, just steps from Stockholm Central Station on Bryggargatan.
Since 1997

Our Story

Belgobaren opened on Bryggargatan in 1997 with a simple idea: to give Stockholm an authentic Belgian brasserie. We have nurtured that idea and maintained our place as a favourite haunt ever since.

Behind Belgobaren are enthusiasts captivated by Belgium's remarkable diversity – a country no bigger than Småland with a food culture, beer culture, and joie de vivre that punches well above its weight. That passion has driven us for nearly three decades.

Since the start, we have built up a selection of over 300 Belgian beers, served countless pots of moules frites, and become one of Stockholm's most enduring favourites for lunch, dinner, and late-night indulgence.

Food with soul

Belgian Food Culture

The Belgian kitchen sits close to the French but has its own character – softer seasoning, generous flavours, and an earthiness that makes it perfect brasserie food. Three official languages and just as many culinary traditions fit within the country's borders.

At Belgobaren we serve classics from the Belgian kitchen. Moules frites is our signature dish – mussels cooked in white wine with vegetables and herbs, always with fresh frites and mayonnaise. But the menu stretches further and may include Belgian guest dishes as well as seasonal highlights. We change the menu several times a year, and there is always something new to try.

The Belgian approach to beer and food is something we have carried with us since the start. A robust dubbel with slow-cooked meat. A light wheat beer with seafood. In Belgium such pairings are as natural as wine with cheese in France, and every bit as rewarding. We are happy to help you find something that suits your meal.
